Bacon Strip #127 – February 8 2010

Almost exactly one year ago, i uploaded this video to youtube. I was an aspiring animator with rudimentary skills, I had a huge dreams, and none involved starting a webcomic. While it was fun to make this, I realized that I should focus on my Flash animation skills before continuing on with this project. A few months later Dustin and I started StaleBacon with the character designs from this project.

While I never dreamed that this would eventually become a webcomic I’d update daily, I’m glad it’s gone that direction. Now that I’ve honed my flash skills, you can expect a higher quality stalebacon flash cartoon or two this year.

Twitter is good for a lot of things, and sometimes it doesn’t even make sense. Like right now. Twitter user @ilovemom has spread her #screamingrabbitavatar craze like an infectious disease in the last day or so. There’s no reason or cause behind it. But we’re supporting it. #screamingrabbitavatar

Who has Google Voice invites? We do, of course! Starting 1/15/10, we will be holding a contest. Every Friday for the next three weeks (starting 1/22/10), we will be giving out a Google Voice Invite to one person. How do you enter the contest, you ask? Quite simple: Send out a tweet about our site or a specific comic, with a link back to the site or comic, adding the #stalebacongv hashtag to your tweet.

Only one entry per day will be considered, so don’t flood up twitter with hashtags every 4 seconds… it wont help.The invite will allow you to choose your own phone number, we have not chosen it ahead of time.

The first drawing for the Google Voice invite will be on 1/22/10. We will notify the person by Twitter Direct Message, and then publicly announce the winner via twitter and the site. This will happen again on 1/29/10 and 2/5/10. Good luck, and happy bacon!

Our web sever company switched out hardware and reverted the server to an earlier date. We lost 3 days of data.. which is bad since we update 5 days a week. I think I’ve fixed everything. All comics are back, and comic navigation buttons work again.

P.S. – We publish our 100th comic on Christmas Day, so don’t miss it!
